Our first group of crafting friends have reserved our classroom for Jan. 23-25th. They are friends of mine from State College, Pa. I can't wait for the fun!

Not rain, sleet or power outage...

Nothing keeps crafter's away from a big sale! We had our MYSTERY SALE at the Market St. Crafting Cottage yesterday. What a day! Most of the day we spent in the dark without electrical power. Did that stop our loyal crafter's from coming out for a bargain? No way! They came in groves and saved a whopping 50% off everything in the store.

Cheryl called me at home at 8:45 to say the roads up her way were all ice and that she would have to be a little late. I told her to make sure it was safe before she headed to the store. I arrived on Market St. to find the sad news that Sorge's Restaurant had burned and that our side of the street was without power. Needless to say the day was not how I had imagined. Cheryl arrived a little later and we were going to go have breakfast and wait and see if the power would come back on. To our surprise when we put the sign on the door and headed out for our breakfast we had two excited ladies waiting across the street for our doors to open. They didn't realize that we were without power and that there had been a fire. So... I did what any other manager and crafter would do... I opened the doors and invited them in to shop in the dark!

They came from Elmira and had a great time. With the help of a small flashlight and a candle they devoured every corner of our store. They didn't want to miss anything. Before I knew if the store was filled with crafter's all laughing and having fun enjoying our sale.

Throughout the day we had a couple short periods when the lights would come on. Unfortunately when they came on so would our fire alarm in the store go off. At one time my daughter Erica was shopping and she tried to help by wrapping her coat and scarf around the alarm to muffle the sound. Hey, don't laugh. IT WORKED! And our customers were thrilled. We also had a wonderful husband and wife come into the store to shop while we were without power. He even went back to their car to get his wife a flashlight. He thought it was great that we stayed open for the sale. He even propped our front door open with a chair and a sign to let people know we were up and running. When they checked out their purchases he handed me his flashlight and told me to use it the rest of the day and he would come back next week to pick it up! WOW! How nice was that!

So, the Mystery Sale on Market St. didn't quite go as I had planned. It ended up better than I could have imagined! Family, friends, customers and strangers all came together and laughed, joked and helped each other make the best of a bad situation. What a day!

Busy, busy, busy...

Tis the season for all of us to be very busy. The gift buying, wrapping of presents, attending school concerts, baking cookies, card making and more. Through all of the hustle and bustle we need to remember to take time out and spend some quality time with our family and friends.

We have been busy at the Market St. store getting ready for the Hero Arts presentation tomorrow. The new 2009 stamps are terrific. I can't wait to find the time to play a little. Make sure you stop in tomorrow, the 18th and check out our display and new catalog.

We received our order from Magenta a few days ago. The Magenta Peel Offs are flying out the door. We have some great holiday and winter ones in. We also have another order of Nestibilites in. I know they won't last long so hurry in.

I have the January classes for the Market St. store on our website and I have copies in the store.
Lots of information coming about fun events in the new year.

What a fun....

What a fun afternoon we had yesterday at the Crafting Cottage on Market St. in Corning. We had 13 co-workers from Fortuna join us for a team building afternoon. They were a fun group to craft with. They made Christmas Cards, Tags and a gift bag. I loved seeing all of the individual creative ideas that they came up with. After the crafting was done they had their own fun with a Chinese auction and tons of laughter.

I am so thankful that I have a large classroom to accommodate different crafting needs and events. I hope they come and visit us again soon. I do know that several of them said they would be stopping in on December 27 for our Mystery Sale!

We received a large order from Hero Arts Stamps yesterday. WOW!! It is their 2009 preview and they are beautiful! I'll keep you posted on when they will be available for sale.

I am sorry to say that all of the Nestibilities are gone again. The good news is that there are more on their way and they should be arriving in a few days.

We have an order from Magenta due in very soon also. Lots of Magenta Peel Offs have been ordered.

Several of our special orders for wedding paper and envelopes have been arriving. Plus all of the Colormates cardstock is available. Keep in mind we can special order paper for your invitations, favors and all of your wedding or party needs.

Just a reminder that Christmas is two weeks from today. Do you have your cards all made?

YIKES!!!!!!

Thanks Lori for emailing me about the Ham Tortilla Recipe on my blog. The word that you can't figure out the meaning for is supposed to be tortilla. YIKES!!!! I didn't even catch that one. That is what I get for rushing around in the morning before work and trying to type on my blog.

We are having a very busy week at the Market St., Crafting Cottage. We had some lovely friends come from Pathways today to make Christmas cards. Tomorrow we have a team building group from Fortuna coming for the afternoon. I believe there is going to be fourteen of them and they also are doing Christmas cards. We also have several private classes and a birthday party this week.

More Nestabililites will be on their way. I can't keep them in stock!

We received another clothes pin back today that was terrific. I am excited to see what the rest of you have planned for yours.

Cheryl was bringing in her class schedule today for the month of Jan. and I will get the classes posted real soon.

Hey there is only 16 days left until Christmas. Make sure you stop by and get your Gift Certificates before it is too late.

I couldn't believe it....

Yesterday while working at the Crafting Cottage on Market St. we had a surprise visitor! Non other that Mrs. Claus herself stopped by to check in on us! I had Noah, my grandson with me for a short while and she stopped in to see if he had been naughty or nice all year long. She looked
grand in her red Santa hat and her red ribbon earrings. She was in town helping Santa out for the day. I assured her that Noah had been a pretty good boy this year.

She loved all of the sales that we were having and all of the 50% off stamps in our back room. I reminded her that our sales would be running today (Sunday, 12-4) also.

Thanks Joyce for bringing in pictures of that beautiful grandson of yours yesterday! Being a grandmother is TERRIFIC! I am looking forward to seeing you and Maren and Cherie this afternoon. I am sure they will enjoy our sale as much as you did.

Well I must get ready to head out for Market St. See you all there!

Friday, November 28, 2008

WOW!

Well it was a very busy day on Market St. for Black Friday! Cheryl and I had a lot of fun waiting on all of you. Don't fret though if you couldn't make it today because we still have everything at 25% off tomorrow and Sunday. Also we still have a good supply of stamps in our back room at 50% off. We will be open tomorrow from 10 until 5 and then again right after the parade.

I saw Santa today going for a carriage ride down Market St. He gave Cheryl, Trish and I a big wave and a smile. He was looking good! He said he had a lot of requests for rubber stamps in his dear Santa letters. He also wanted to know if we had Score Pals and Purple Cow Cutters in stock and I assured him that we did. They would make terrific Christmas gifts! I also reminded him that he could give gift certificates from The Crafting Cottage to his good little girls and boys and then they could have fun choosing their own crafting items. He was quite pleased that we opened another store on Market St. because it would sure make his holiday season a little easier. I told him when he stopped in to load up his sleigh that I would have some cookies and milk for him. He was looking a little on the thin side.

Stop in and see us as you are enjoying all of the holiday events on the street this weekend.

I was wrong...

I went into work today with the idea it would be a long slow day with all of the rain. But to my surprise I was soooo wrong! Market St. was very busy today even in all of the down pours. The day flew by and I hardly had time to think.

It was so nice to see you today Pam! I am glad you loved the store. I hope you have time to use all of your new crafting products real soon. I can't wait to see what you do for your Christmas tags.

We have only one space left for the second annual Christmas Tag exchange. Pam was # 39 and I am going to stop at 40. So, if you have been going to sign up and just haven't done it yet, call Tuesday for the last spot on the sign up sheet. I was going to split the group into two and each group would make 20 tags. But after asking some of the women about it they wanted to do all forty. It is going to be one fun evening!

We have some terrific new JustRite Stamps that arrived earlier this week. I know they won't be around long.

I am really excited for Dee to arrive on Tues. for her alcohole ink class. I know the ladies are really looking forward to some creative fun Tues. evening.

Hopefully tomorrow I will get to the store and take a few pictures of some of November's classes.
Then I can put them on-line for you to see.

I'm Back....

Sorry for the time away. I've been so busy with the store that time got away from me.

We had a lovely evening at the store last night. Stacy from Stacy's Stamps came from Ohio to do a class for us. She is an excellent teacher and her work is beautiful. We had twelve very happy women leaving the store with their creations and bags full of new goodies.

Today I can restock my Stacy Stamp display with all of her unique stamps. You'll have to stop in and see then before they are gone.

The Copic Sketch Markers have arrived! I haven't had time to play with them yet but that is on my list. I believe we have 36 beautiful colors to choose from. The markers are alcohole ink markers and they are refillable! How terrific is that.

We have also got in some new Basicgrey. They have some really awesome stamp sets that coordinate with their paper lines.

Well, I must get ready to go into the store. I'll be back soon.

They have arrived...

The Nestabilities from Spellbinder have arrived and they are flying out the door. I have circles, squares, scalloped edges and more.

I spent this afternoon with my sister, Trish, at the Crafting Cottage on Market St. I did some actual crafting and playing with the Nestabilities. I LOVE them. I haven't had time to play with the Wizard and it's die-cuts in a long time. I am going to be having a Wizard Workshop Day so you can see just how much fun these machines are. And the best thing is that I am going to put the Wizards on SALE!

I helped Trish plan her Christmas Exchange Tags today. She is coming to join us on November 21st for our Tag Exchange Party. And...I actually got to get a start on making my own tags. I saw Georgia this afternoon at the East Corning Store and she told me she has been working on her tags also. I can't wait. Last years Christmas Tags were wonderful.

Tomorrow I will be posting Novembers Classes for Market St. Make sure to check them out.

Thursday, October 9, 2008

OOOPS!

I hit enter before I wrote my entry.

Today was a crazy day on Market St. We had tons of people signing up for our October classes, our Crafters Club, and our Christmas Tag Exchange!

Some of our classes are getting close to being full so if you are thinking of taking one please sign up soon.

When I left the store this evening we had 14 on our Tag Exchange list. I am so excited. The ladies had a fun time last year and this year will be even better. I haven't decided what I am doing for my tags yet though. There are so many creative products in our store that I can't decide which ones I want to play with to make my tags.

Cheryl and I worked on getting the Holiday Creation Stations prepared for Saturday's National Card Making Day. Make sure everyone even if you can't visit your favorite craft store of Saturday that you take a little time for yourself and create a beautiful card!

Tuesday, September 30, 2008

WOW..

It was a very busy day at the Crafting Cottage on Market St. I started the morning out with a wonderful customer named Melinda. I believe she was from New Jersey. Melinda and I bonded for probably an hour or more. She was so much fun and she loves to craft. She left with giving me a hug and her two large bags of new product. She purchased some of our terrific Bare
Elements products, tons of BasicGrey, Keiser and some great stamps! Melinda is probably home this evening playing with her new items.

Next we had some lovely ladies from Canada. They were a lot of fun also. They discovered our Stamps By Judith line of rubber stamps. Until they left they had their Christmas Cards all planned out and ready to start production.

Penny Black stamps flew out the door with the gals from Rochester. Our JustRite Stamp sets have been a big hit also. I see a re-order in the near future.

All of our lucky winners of our Grand Opening door prizes have dropped by to pick up their gift bags filled with crafting goodies. Have fun ladies!

Tomorrow evening I will be baking Christmas Cookies for our Saturday's National Card Making Holiday Event. There is still time to register and join in the fun. Just give me a call at 607 937-3103 by Friday afternoon.

I just love being on Market St. with all of our friends, customers and tourists. Stop by and see me.

What A Night!

I am finally home from what was a fantastic evening. Our GRAND OPENING of The Crafting Cottage on Market St. Corning, NY was a huge success!

Where do I begin...the friends, the flowers, Georgiana, the balloons, the refreshments, the media, Dee and Dennis, the laughter, and the work are just a few things running through my mind. It was just soooo terrific seeing all of you this evening. I have missed you all. It is wonderful to be open again!

Dee, our special friend who demonstrated Alcohole Inks this evening was remarkable! The samples she made are stunning!

Tomorrow is our first official day of being open to the public. I am so excited! Dee will be joining us again to share more of her creative stamping talents. I can't wait to see what she will be doing.

Stop by and help us celebrate. See you on Thursday!

Recovering...

I am still recovering from our long day at the new store on Friday. Cheryl and I had a great day! We traveled up and down the steps loading hundreds of paper trays into Cheryl's van. Both of us anxiously waiting to get them to the new store to start displaying our beautiful products.

Betsy stopped by again before she left town to chat and I hate to say this but... I ordered more new product! The walls, corners, drawers you name it are going to be bursting with excitement.

Cheryl has to be away for a week and she is already dreading going. She doesn't want to miss any of the setting up and excitement of new product arriving. I assured her there would still be plenty to do when she returned.

My mission this weekend is to finish the Magenta order and pick out some new ribbons for our store. Magenta has some wonderful new papers and holiday stamps. I am having trouble choosing. I want them all!

Well, I must rest up for another fun week. Enjoy your weekend!

WOW What A Day!

The men worked on the slat wall most of the day and it is looking fantastic! Cheryl and I will be putting in a mega work day tomorrow. We filled one of the displays the other day with my new Crate Papers. They are stunning! Perfect for card makers and scrapbookers.

Betsy came and brought samples and samples and samples to show us. I spent hours visiting with her. Needless to say we placed many orders for MORE NEW PRODUCT! New Creative Imaginations, Webster's Pages, Copic Markers, Basicgrey and more. I can't wait for you to see it all.

Georgiana and I will be busy planning our GRAND OPENING. Stay tuned for the fun details.

Wednesday, August 13, 2008

The fun begins...

Today the slat wall arrived for the new store, all 940lbs of it! Tomorrow Danny and Charlie are going to cut and install it for me. Then the fun will begin...lining the walls with beautiful papers and embellishments.

Cheryl and I have been working hard to get the store ready to open but we have had a lot of fun doing it. If only you could be a fly on the wall and watch the two of us arranging and rearranging product. We step back and look and then look at each other, laugh, and then we rethink our whole plan.

Besides the slat wall being installed tomorrow I also have Betsy, our product rep. coming to share some new Basicgrey and other products with us. That will be exciting. Then more orders to be placed.

Don't forget to sign up for the Hot Holiday Happenings and Basically Breakfast classes before they fill up.

Cheryl and I...

We should be very healthy. They say that laughter is the best medicine and is very good for you. Well, we laughed all day long. Picture us painting, moving fixtures, scrubbing and doing more painting. We were exhausted until the afternoon was over. I knew it was time to quit painting when I started to paint a wall the wrong color. Also, Cheryl and I had paint drips and splatters mysteriously appearing out of the clear blue.

We looked at some of the new larger designer papers that have arrived. They are BEAUTIFUL!
They will be perfect for card making, scrapbooking, home decor and so much more. I can't wait to set up our display.

Danny has been bringing fixtures and items we need from the East Corning Store for us. The slat wall should be arriving in a few days. Then the fun will begin. Stocking the shelves and walls with terrific products for all of you. I tried to upload a picture of the "before" the work began at our store. Sorry I couldn't get it to work. I will play around and see if I can do it in a later post.

A Busy Day...

Wow! Time flew by today. Cheryl and I were really busy doing all kinds of things at the new store. Painting, measuring, choosing fixtures, you name it.

Georgiana and Cheryl both loved the items I brought in today to decorate our store. It is so exciting seeing it all come together.

While at the East Corning Store this afternoon I took time to check on the new Crate Paper lines that arrived for my store. They are great! I love this double sided paper for card making. The texture and feel of the paper is wonderful. And the new lines are not just a plain color on one side, they now have a light pattern on them.

I plan on having a class schedule posted with-in a few days. It will be for September. We also will be starting our Inchie's Club in September also.

More catalogs to explore this evening and orders to place.

Catalogs, Catalogs And More Catalogs...

Tiffany has returned from CHA with a ton of new companies for us to check out. Dream Street Papers, Zutter, My Minds Eye are just a few to name. I am going to spend my evening devouring some of them and getting ready to place more orders. I also received in the mail today a new MAGENTA and SERENDIPITY Catalog. I love their fall and holiday products. And Magenta has some terrific new PEEL-OFFS for sale. They will certainly be on my order form.

Speaking of ZUTTER, Tiffany placed my order for the BIND-IT-ALL V2.0. It is a customizable, professional quality double Owire binding system. Used with it's companion products the creative ideas are endless! I used the Bind-It-All in Mass. earlier this year and fell in love with it. Personalized journals, scrapbooks, address books, home decor and more. With the holidays coming the Zutter Bind-it-All will be here just in time. I am already planning classes with the system. I love it. In the picture is the Bird House Journal I made at the Mass. show.
Some of our orders from CHA are arriving already. Georgia entered and priced several of them for me today so I could continue to work on the Market St. Store. It is coming along great. Tomorrow Cheryl is going to be helping me. I see some painting in her future. I also am going to bring some of the items I purchased to use in the store and share them with her. I can't wait to see her reaction.

Well, I must get to those catalogs!

WE ARE SO EXCITED...

The announcement is out. We are opening another Crafting Cottage at 38 East Market St. in downtown Corning. I can't tell you how excited I am to be back on Market St. The new store is double the size of my former store which means double the products and fun!

There is a nice classroom on the first floor and we have plenty of room to hold larger events and classes. I have so many in mind.

I spent the weekend in Pittsburgh with my sister buying items for the stores decor. We had a blast. I can't wait to get it up and running. But... the doors won't open until we have everything just right.

I have been busy doing some painting, cleaning, planning (daydreaming)and more. Cheryl has been a great help and makes the work fun. We want this to be a store that if you are walking on Market St. and look in the window that you feel you just have to check us out! It is going to be terrific and I can't wait to share it with all of you.

I am on my way to Market St. in just a few minutes. Thank you for being patient while waiting for our news. I will write more when I return from another day of excitement!

IT"S COMING...

That is right, probably tomorrow evening the news will be out. I am sooooo excited! Keep checking in. More later.

Next week....

I am excited to say that next week we will be telling our big news. I know, I know you have been hearing this from me, but it is just a few days away.

Other great news is that Tiffany is at the Summer CHA in Chicago and she is purchasing up a storm for us. We will be getting all kinds of new stamps, papers, tools and other fun new items. The class ideas are racing through my head as I am typing! So when the summer fun winds down we can relax and enjoy some creative inspirational classes together.

We were quite busy at the East Corning Crafting Cottage today. It sure makes the day go by fast and I love helping the customers come up with ideas for their next projects. We also love it when you bring your finished projects in to show us. WOW! We had a customer this afternoon choosing some of our new Bazzill Bling Paper for her scrapbooking pages she is working on. It is going to look super! It was also nice to meet Terri and her husband this afternoon. They are staying at an area B&B and she was dying to get to our store. She loved it and she will certainly be back when in the area. Happy 50th Terri!

Well, I have plans to re-vamp my crafting area here at home this weekend. Wish me luck. I don't have much of a plan at the moment but I'll keep you posted.

Boy It's Been Hot!

And the Crafting Cottage has been getting some"HOT" new products in to share with you soon. From papers, stamps, new die-cuts, kits, you name it. Georgia and I have been busy entering items and getting them ready for the shelves.

Georgiana and I have been busy getting ready for our special announcement. But it looks like it won't be until next week that we can let the excitement out of the bag. I know, I know, I keep saying it is coming. Believe me it is hard for me not to tell you!

I am working tomorrow on some of the projects for our HOT HOLIDAY HAPPENINGS Workshop. I will post a date for the fun event as soon as I have it. We will be doing Christmas cards and Holiday themed items to give you a head start for this years celebrations. You won't want to miss it!

Cheryl returned to work today from her vacation. She and her husband had a great time. We are glad to have her back. I will get to hear more of her adventures tomorrow at work.

We have been busy packing the Market St. Crafting Cottage and getting ready to set things up at the East Corning store. I am excited to get moved and get ready for a wonderful summer of crafting classes and events. Keep checking in for my schedule. As soon as I am situated I will try to get them posted for you.
I will admit I am going to miss Beth and all of the action on Market St., but it will be nice to be at the East Corning Cottage and with the rest of the Crafting Cottage Family. Well I have to get packing so I will see everyone in East Corning in a few days!

Wednesday, May 21, 2008

My last one...

Tonight was my last class that I will hold at the Market St. Crafting Cottage. Freda, Nina and Jane had a lot of fun doing the Magenta Peel Off's. They are a great group of ladies that join me once a month to do some fun crafting. There is a lot of laughter when they are around! Their next class will be in our new location.
Next week, probably Thursday, I will pack up the store and I am moving to the East Corning Crafting Cottage until our new location is ready to go. It is going to be great! Please stop by and visit me in East Corning.

Saturday, May 17, 2008

I started...

Today Cheryl and I started to pack some of our extra items at the Market St. Store preparing for our move in a few weeks. Speaking of our move, keep checking my blog and our website for some important information. We are always full of surprises at The Crafting Cottage. I know the girls have been busy getting ready for our 5th year anniversary at the East Corning Store. It is scheduled for next Friday. More on that coming soon.

Monday, May 12, 2008

As I was saying...

Saturday at The Crafting Cottage flew by so fast. I started out at the East Corning Store with a fun group of ladies celebrating a 50th birthday party. It was great and they all made roll-a-bind memory books. Then after that I rushed back to Market St. to teach a Magenta Class to Joyce, Mare and Cherie. By the way girls, the felt letters that were left behind, I will send to you. Just give me a call so I can get your address. I enjoyed seeing all of you again. Keep watch on my blog for June classes to be posted for the new store and we will get your next class scheduled.

Oh, I forgot I promised to post the recipe for the Tortilla Ham Stacks. Here goes:

1 8-0z pkg cream cheese, softened
1 7-oz can Dices' green chilies
1 bunch green onions, diced fine (reg. onion can be used)
4 slices ham luncheon meat
3-4 Tbsp mayonnaise
1 pkg flour tortillas

Mix together cream cheese, chilies, onions, meat and mayonnaise. Using 4 or 5 tortillas, frost individually in layers ending with tortilla on top. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. Slice in small squares.

Enjoy! They are great for picnics and get togethers.

Saturday flew by..

Stop in the store Gina and we will take care of your lost crystal. See you soon.

More Photo's

Here are a few more photo's from the Mother's Day Tea I thought I would share with you. The photo in the left hand top corner is my sister and my mother. Below that Beth is enjoying a cup of tea.

A lovely evening...

Here are a few pictures of our evening!
Beth created the lovely floral centerpiece below.

The Mother's Day Tea on Friday at The Crafting Cottage on Market St. was a success! We had eight lovely ladies and Beth and I attending. We drank our tea out of china teacups and ate off of pink depression glass plates. The wonderful group of women attending really enjoyed talking and getting to know each other. I believe the women loved their bracelets and memory books that they each took home with them. I know Beth and I enjoyed creating them. I do want to say a big "THANK YOU" to my sister Trish from State College, Pa. She arrived Thursday evening and was a huge help to Beth and I on Friday. Just to let you know, I am already having great ideas for next year's Mother's Day Tea. You won't want to miss it!

Thursday, May 8, 2008

We are busy...

Beth and I were busy finishing the preparations for our Mother's Day Tea which is tomorrow evening. I am so glad that Mary, Joyce and Susan called and registered to join us. I will make sure to take lots of pictures and post them on my blog.

I went to the new store this morning early to do some measuring. I am hoping to have a blueprint made of where we would like things to be placed when they arrive. It will certainly make the move easier. I am getting so excited. I have a group of ladies coming from the Pittsburgh area for a crafting day when we are settled in our new store. I also think my friends from Centre County, PA will be coming for another fun day. They are going to love our new store!

It looks like I may be moving a little sooner that I thought. I will keep you posted on my closing date on Market St. I have started to pack extra items and inventory already. And of course all of the new items that are rolling in are just staying in their boxes:( But just think when we have our GRAND OPENING!!! There will be tons of new things to look at and play with.

Well there is food to be made for the Tea and I guess I must get to it. More tomorrow.

What a Beautiful Day!

Good morning everyone. I was just outside putting my grandson on the bus and it is a beautiful day outside.
Beth and I were busy still finishing up things for the Mother's Day Tea on Friday. I am excited my sister is coming from State College, PA to join our mother and I for the tea.

We are getting all kinds of new items into our store. BUT.....I decided yesterday to pack them away and keep them for the new store (Fran's Bridal). It didn't make any since to start putting more items out when I soon will be packing everything up. It is getting very exciting and the time is coming so fast. We at the Crafting Cottage are going to be very busy! :) I am heading out to the store, I will post more when I return.

Sunday, May 4, 2008

OH MY...

We were BUSY on Market St. on Sat. The Re-Discover Corning Day I think was a success! Tons of people were on Market St. We had a lot of new people in the Bead Shoppe and The Crafting Cottage on Sat. A lot of new
people excited about our up-coming move to the former Fran's Bridal. We had a lot of inquiries about holding birthday parties, graduation parties and all kinds of classes! I had sooo many people doing make n' takes on Sat. We were using the new Basicgrey Stamps and our Big Rainbow Ink Pads. We had children from age 2-adults in there 80's or so. Men and women, boys and girls were having a great time making Mother's Day cards. There will be a lot of handcrafted cards handed to mother's in the Corning area on Sunday!

This week is going to keep Beth and I very busy. We are finishing up the arrangements for the Mother's Day Tea that is going to be held Friday, May 9th at 5:30 at the Market St. store. REMEMBER YOU MUST register by Wednesday at the latest. The price is $20 and that includes the lovely Mother's Day Bracelet that Beth designed and also a pretty book to place some of your favorite photo's in. We will be serving tea and refreshments and just having a nice time. It is not a class, so you do not have to be a jewelry maker or scrapbooker to come. Beth and I will have the bracelet and book already made for you. Give us a call at 937-3139 Tues. or Wed. and sign up.

HELP...

My mind has been racing with new classes and ideas for events for our new store. But I got thinking I should ask and see what you would be interested in doing. Any ideas? I am always open for suggestions. Post your ideas on my blog and I will get to work on designing the classes and events you would like to have. Keep in mind we can accommodate small intimate groups for private classes and now also larger groups without any problems. Can't wait to hear from all of you. I will post some of my ideas later today.

Thursday, May 1, 2008

Have you heard?

Well by now the big news I've hinted to earlier is out. We are moving The Crafting Cottage's to the former Fran's Bridal in Corning! I am soooo excited! It is going to be wonderful. The space for product is enormous and the class rooms are ohhhhh. Let me just say we won't have to worry about class size anymore.
We are going to be so busy in the next few weeks getting ready for the move.

On Market St. Beth and I are busy getting ready for Saturday's Corning events. Re-Discover Corning was a great idea, so many people who live right here don't realize what all there is to do in this great town. With the price of gas, people really don't have to go far to enjoy their summers.

We are also getting ready for our Mother's Day Tea at the Market St. store. There is still time to register and come and join us for some refreshments and fun. The price is $20 and that includes the special Mother's Day
Bracelet that Beth designed and a special memory book for those precious pictures plus don't forget the tea and goodies.

Oh before I forget and leave for work, we are still getting in new PRODUCTS!!! Yesterday we got in more Creative Imaginations and some of our Kaiser Craft order. This is a new company for us and I know you are going to LOVE it! We received papers, rub-on's, wooden die cuts and bling, bling, bling. Stop by and see it soon.

Today I am off to the Windmill with Georgiana to do some fine tuning to our booth. Can't wait.

Fill you in on more fun news later today.

Saturday, April 26, 2008

WOW!!!!!

What a fun day at the Crafting Cottage! We were so busy with the wonderful bus full of crafty ladies from Binghamton. It was so nice to see all of them. Wow... did the Basicgrey fly out of the store! Then there was the Magenta woven papers and Peel Off's, we will certainly be placing an order on Monday to restock. Beth and Cheryl and I took care of the Market St. store while the bus was there, then Cheryl and I went to the East Corning store to help Tiffany out. What fun!
Keep checking in for some exciting news to come...

What A Day!

Just returned home from The Crafting Cottage on Market St. What a fun, busy day. I started out with three wonderful ladies who came in at 10:00 to do the Garden Gift Box/Card Class. They were a lot of fun and must have had a good time because they are coming back next month for a Magenta Peel Off's Class. I can't wait.

My two sister's from PA came up today to the store and I went to lunch with my mother and them. That was a nice treat. It was great seeing them, even if for a short time. They loved shopping with all of the new products in the store. My sister Cindy is just trying her hand at scrapbooking. She has been a card maker for a long time. My other sister Susanne, she has been scrapbooking and card making for years.

I was so excited to see the new Magenta Papers flying out of the store. Everyone is loving them.
The same can be said for the My Favorite Things Stamps. They are going fast. That just means a reorder will be needed!

My third sister, Trish, from the Penn State area is coming this evening to spend a couple days crafting with me. I have a lot of ideas for items for the Windmill. Card sets, Rolla Bind Books ready for you to put pictures in, Brag Books ready for pictures, journals and more! Have a great weekend. If I can I will post some of my weekend creations.

Magenta Has Arrived!

Magenta arrived this morning. The papers are beautiful! Stripes, florals, woven, all in gorgeous colors. The stamps are fun! Birds, flowers, seashore, butterflies, and did I mention BIRDS, they are a hot item. We also got more flower, frames, bird and birthday Peel Off's. Tiffany and I saw a lot of samples at the Susan Gilman show last week using the BIRD theme.

Beth and I spent the afternoon arranging the Magenta area of the store so it is ready and waiting for you to come and see. I can't wait to start making some samples with the new stamps and papers. Above I have posted a few sample from Magenta that I made at the Show in Mass. last week. Keep watching for the Magenta classes to be posted for next month.
We also were happy to receive another shipment from Creative Imaginations today. Our little boy and little girl paper and rub on's arrived. They are so CUTE! Double sided, vibrant colored paper that is great for scrapbooking or card making.
Well let's see.... we still have Hampton Arts, BasicGrey, more Creative Imaginations, new scrapbooks from a new company, and the Paper Cut to come in to the Market St. store. Plus some new items for the Creative Cafe'. I'll keep you posted when the big brown truck pulls up again!

We're On A Roll!
What I mean is the new product has begun to roll into our stores. My Favorite Things arrived at the Market St. Crafting Cottage yesterday. Their new stamps are sooooo cute. I was selling them before I even had them priced! There is a great Mother's Day set, a fun garden set, a really cute farm animal set, and more. I can't wait to make samples for the store.

I called about our BasicGrey order yesterday and it should be shipping early next week. I guess I can wait that long. :( I can't wait to get my hands on their new paper and coordinating stamp sets! I do believe that Magenta will be arriving this week yet. I will keep you posted. I loved the class I took at the Sue Gilman Show from Magenta. There are new Peel Off's, paper, stamps and more on their way.

Must head out to the store. I will update and let you know if anything rolls in today!

Can't Wait!
Tomorrow should be a busy day on Market St. with the Corning Glass Sale in full swing. It was great seeing all of you today. Thanks for stopping in. I got all of my formal managers work done and did some playing today. I made an adorable card set for Georgiana to take to the Windmill. Hopefully I'll have more time to play tomorrow. If I get a chance I will put it on line for all of you to see. Don't forget 20% off tomorrow and Sunday!

I am keeping my fingers crossed that today the UPS truck will pull up with my BasicGrey order.

Endless Ideas!
My mind is racing with all of the endless crafting ideas I have learned and experienced over the last four days in Boston. Tiffany and I had the pleasure of attending the Susan Gilman Show in Mass. It was busy from morning until evening with classes. Until Monday night came I was exhausted but very excited to head home in the morning, to begin planning classes and events to share with everyone.
Hopefully tomorrow I can post some samples from my classes for you.

About Me

Corning, New York
My husband and I moved here from Centre County, PA almost five years ago. Working with The Crafting Cottage Family has certainly made the move a positive one. What wonderful friends I've made! When not crafting at one of our two locations, I enjoy spending time with my family. I have two children and two beautiful grandchildren that I love to spoil.
